Volunteer Here connects the community to local opportunities with organizations and businesses. We share a variety of roles, ranging from food banks to animal care. They can be filtered and sorted depending on location, any age limits, and type of service. The site is directed towards youth and adults alike, so everyone has a chance to take part in helping out. All of the organizations listed have a page dedicated to information. We want to make sure that volunteers are familiar with the expectations, and know what they are committing to.
We are based in Montour County, and currently only serve the towns of Danville, Bloomsburg, and Lewisburg. We hope to expand by listening to the recommendations and inputs of organization owners or community members. Their insights can inform and improve our resources even more! Our website was founded out of an interest in the intersection between technology and community service. Currently, our main objective is to spread outreach about different positions and roles. We are working toward a community connected: members can find new causes to contribute to, and organizations can get the support they need.
